01 The 4 Phases of DPW

Timeline

1. 01 NOW – OCT

   Planning

   Right now we are sizing, designing and ordering components for our water, waste, and electric systems. We would like to add more services like a food co-op or propane.

   💡 A number of services would be 'nice to have' but require people stepping up to do them ie. a food co-op, or propane service. If no one does it centrally, everyone does it individually or as camps.
2. 02 NOV & DEC

   Build

   Begins with moving piles, setting things up, and screwing them together. We have a 'no cuts' mentality preferring standard lumber with rough edges. Sometimes we cut. Once the base structures are in place we set up solar, the water system, the waste output systems, everything and the kitchen sinks.

3. 03 JAN – MARCH

   Mars College

   The actual event needs ongoing maintenance on the solar and water systems, plus essential operational runs:

   • 💧 Towing the fresh water trailer to fill the tank
   • 🚛 Towing the trash trailer and emptying it at the dump
   • ♻️ Managing recycling *
   • 🔥 Refilling propane tanks *
   • 🛒 Costco runs to fill the food tanks *

   * Only if we can find people to step up and run these services.

4. 04 APRIL INTO MAY

   Disengage

   Deconstruct our solar and water systems, dismantle our large structures, clean, organize and put everything safely into storage, leaving the land pristine.
